What is the UNIC project?

UNIC is a project that aims to develop tools to support mainly public authorities but also service providers and people with long-term care and support needs toimplementuser-centred funding models, such as personal budgets.

 

What is a personal budget?

A Personal budget is an amount of money that is given to a person by the public authorities. This budget is for the person to decide how to use it to meet their needs and wishes and arrange the support they need.

 

What are the benefits of implementing a personal budgets model?

This model puts the person with care and support needs at the centre of the planning. Individuals are free to choose and receive the type of support they need, and they wish to receive. This model also helps people to have more freedom, citizenship, and access to their human rights, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

 

Who will benefit from the UNIC project?

Mainly public authorities but also people with long-term care and support needs, such as persons with disabilities and older people,as well asservice providers

What is the UNIC Toolbox?

The toolbox is a set of 3 tools:

  • The Quality Monitoring Tool is addressed to persons with long-term care and support needs and they can fill it out to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the personal budget model they are using.
  • The Service Delivery Tool is addressed to service providers to support them to improve their services by providing support to their users in a person-centred way.
  • The Compliance Assurance Tool is addressed to public authorities to help them design, develop and implement a personal budget funding model.

 

Who can use the UNIC toolbox?

The Quality Monitoring Tool can be used by people with long-term care and support needs that receive a personal budget for at least 6 months.

The Service Delivery Tool can be used by service providers that wish to self-evaluate their services and identify ways to offer more person-centred services in line with the rights and principles of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.

The Compliance Assurance Tool can be used by public authorities who wish to improve their systems and move towards an effective system of Personal Budgets.

 

Who can fill out the online toolbox?

People with long-term care and support needs, service providers, public authorities from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Spain, Finland.

You may go to the Fill out the tool page here: ICT Environment (unicproject.eu) and click on the Forgot your password? under the login information.

 

I cannot login in. My username and password are correct, but I cannot login.

Please make sure that your username and password are correctly filled in. Username is your email address. If you are unsure about your password, please reset it using this form.

 

What is the 2-factor authentication and why do I have to use it?

The 2-factor authentication (2FA) is a security process where users provide two different authentication factors to verify themselves. This security process is applied only on the Service Delivery Tool and on the Compliance Assurance Tool.

 

Can I have two different accounts but use the same email address?

No. Each account needs to have a unique email address. On the other hand, website administrator can enhance your account so that with a single login you can access multiple tools. To do so, please register as usual and then send a request to website administrator for additional access rights. Your request will be processed manually so please take into account that it will be processed as soon as possible, but will still take some time.

How is my data stored?

We care about privacy and data protection. All your information is stored in a secured and encrypted environment. IT servers are hosted in EU (Germany) with full GDPR compliance.

 

If I want to, how can I delete my data?

If you would like to delete your data from our system, please submit a request using our contact form. Your request will be processed manually and a confirmation will be sent to you once the processes is finalized.

Is there a time limit to complete the tool?

There is no time limit to complete the tool. You can fill it out in your own pace.

 

Can I fill out the tool on my mobile phone?

Yes, you can use your mobile phone to fill out the tool.

 

Can I fill out the tool on a tablet?

Yes, you can use a tablet to fill out the tool.

 

Can I start filling out the tool on one device and complete it using another device?

Yes, you can as long as you remember your login information.
